We are proud to announce that Nowicki.Art Foundation is a patron of the 1st National Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference “Pedagogy of Art: From Form to Formation”, which will take place on 19 and 20 November 2026 in Szczecin and Kołbacz.
The first day of the conference – Thursday, 19 November 2026 – will be held at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Szczecin, at 71–79 Krakowska Street in Szczecin.
On the second day – Friday, 20 November 2026 – participants will meet in the historic setting of the Former Cistercian Abbey in Kołbacz.
Art as a Space for Education and Development
The “Pedagogy of Art 2026” conference will bring together the worlds of academia, art and education. Participants will reflect on the role of artistic experience in education, personal development and the formation of individuals.
The event’s guiding theme – “From Form to Formation” – draws attention to the unique potential of the work of art. Artistic form can not only inspire admiration and stimulate the imagination, but also develop sensitivity, encourage critical thinking and contribute to the formation of personal identity and values.
In this context, art becomes a language of discovery, a tool for dialogue and a space for encounters with others. It enables us to express emotions, ask important questions and engage with issues that cannot always be easily described in words.
An Interdisciplinary Encounter Between Theory and Practice
The conference programme will cover four main thematic areas:
- art education and formation through art,
- the theory and practice of art education,
- art history, context and the interpretation of artworks,
- the significance of aesthetic experience in education and personal development.
The event will bring together representatives of various fields, including educators, artists, art historians, university lecturers, doctoral students, museum educators, cultural organisers, art therapists and employees of cultural institutions.
An important part of the programme will also consist of workshops exploring, among other subjects, the therapeutic potential of art and art therapy, printmaking as a model of the cognitive process, and the emotional language of the sacred art of Western Pomerania.

We believe that engaging with art should lead not only to the acquisition of knowledge, but also to the development of imagination, independent thinking and sensitivity towards others.
